PATIENT RIGHTS
Right to medical examination and treatment
- To be informed and explained about health status; methods, medical examination and treatment services, prices of medical examination and treatment services; to be instructed on how to self-monitor, care for, and prevent complications.
- To be examined and treated using safe methods appropriate to the disease, health status, and actual conditions of the hospital.
Right to respect for honor, health protection, and privacy in medical examination and treatment
- To be respected for age, gender, ethnicity, religion, belief, health status, economic conditions, and social status.
- To keep confidential information in medical records and other private information that the patient has provided to the practitioner during the medical examination and treatment process, except in cases where the patient agrees to share information in accordance with the provisions of law or in cases where the medical records are exploited for the right purposes in accordance with the provisions of law.
- Not to be discriminated against, mistreated, physically abused, or sexually abused during the medical examination and treatment process.
- Not to be forced to examine or treat, except in cases where medical treatment is required under the provisions of law.
Right to choose in medical examination and treatment
- To choose a method of medical examination and treatment after being provided with full information, explanation, and consultation about the medical condition, results, and possible risks, except in cases where the patient requests a method of medical examination and treatment that is not in accordance with the regulations on technical expertise.
- To accept or refuse to participate in biomedical research on medical examination and treatment.
- To choose a representative to exercise and protect your rights and obligations in medical examination and treatment.
Right to information
- To be examined, treated, consulted by a doctor, fully explained about your medical condition, treatment direction, alternative solutions, success rate, recovery, consequences if not treated and possible risks, ... in a language you can understand (with the support of an interpreter whenever possible)
- To be provided and explained in detail about the payment for medical examination and treatment services upon request.
- To know about the information of the doctor and medical staff responsible for treatment and care
- To be provided with information about the prescribed drugs, the common effects and unwanted effects of the drugs.
- To be instructed on necessary care after discharge.
- To know about the process for making complaints, presenting conflicts, disagreements as well as expressing praise and suggestions
The right to refuse medical examination and treatment and to leave the medical examination and treatment facility
- To refuse medical examination and treatment but must commit in writing to take responsibility for one's refusal after being advised by the practitioner, except in cases of compulsory treatment as prescribed by law.
- To leave the medical examination and treatment facility before completing the treatment contrary to the practitioner's instructions but must commit in writing to take responsibility for one's departure from the medical examination and treatment facility, except in cases of compulsory treatment as prescribed by law.
Right to make recommendations and compensation
- To make recommendations on existing problems, shortcomings, difficulties, obstacles and other issues during the medical examination and treatment process
- To be compensated according to the provisions of law.
Rights of patients who have lost civil act capacity, have difficulty in cognition, behavior control, limited civil act capacity, patients who are minors and patients without relatives
- In case the patient is an adult and falls into a state of losing civil act capacity, has difficulty in cognition, behavior control, limited civil act capacity but has previously had a document expressing his/her legitimate wishes regarding medical examination and treatment, the patient's wishes shall be implemented.
- In case the patient is an adult and falls into a state of losing civil act capacity, has difficulty in cognition, behavior control, limited civil act capacity but has previously had no document expressing his/her legitimate wishes regarding medical examination and treatment, the decision of the legal representative shall be implemented, including: the person chosen by the patient; person chosen by a family member if the patient cannot choose for himself/herself and does not have prior authorization when falling into a state of inability or difficulty in cognition and behavior control; the authorized representative and the legal representative of the patient; the representative of the legal entity that is responsible for managing, caring for, and nurturing the patient. In case there is no legal representative above, the decision of the person in charge of professional responsibility or the direct leader of the Hospital will be implemented.
- In case the patient is a minor, the decision of the legal representative will be implemented, including: the authorized representative and the legal representative of the patient; the representative of the legal entity that is responsible for managing, caring for, and nurturing the patient. In case there is no legal representative above, the decision of the person in charge of professional responsibility or the direct leader of the Hospital will be implemented.
Rights of the disabled
- People with disabilities are entitled to health insurance policies according to the provisions of the law on health insurance.
- Be given appropriate medical examination and treatment.
- Priority is given to medical examination and treatment for people with severe disabilities, people with severe disabilities, disabled children, disabled elderly people, and pregnant women with disabilities according to the provisions of law on medical examination and treatment.
- Get advice on measures to prevent and detect disabilities early; identify congenital disabilities in newborns to promptly take appropriate treatment, orthopedic and rehabilitation measures.
PATIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Obligation to respect practitioners and others working in the Hospital
- Respect practitioners; do not threaten, violate the life, health, or insult the honor and dignity of practitioners and others working at the Hospital.
Obligation to comply with regulations in medical examination and treatment
- Provide truthfully and take responsibility for information related to your personal identity and health status, and fully cooperate with practitioners and others working at the Hospital.
- Comply with the diagnosis and treatment instructions of the practitioner.
- Comply with and require relatives and visitors to comply with hospital regulations and legal regulations on medical examination and treatment.
Obligation to pay for medical examination and treatment costs
- Patients participating in health insurance are obliged to pay for medical examination and treatment costs beyond the scope of benefits and benefit levels prescribed by the law on health insurance.
- Patients who do not participate in health insurance are obliged to pay for medical examination and treatment costs according to the provisions of law.
