Initial stage: Usually has symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection, children may have mild fever or diarrhea, poor play, poor appetite due to stuffy nose, runny nose, dry cough or cough with phlegm.
Full-blown stage: Usually on the 3rd day after the onset of the disease, the child may have a high fever, temperature from 38 - 40 degrees Celsius. Absolutely do not arbitrarily use the old prescription even though the mother sees the symptoms are similar to the previous time. Not only in the case of bronchitis (VPQ) but all other diseases, reusing the old prescription is very dangerous because:
- First: Although the symptoms are the same as the previous time, the child still has a fever, cough, fatigue, and difficulty breathing (not to mention other diseases), the doctor will still diagnose VPQ, however, the agent causing VPQ this time may be different from the previous time, because the type of virus and bacteria causing the disease is different, so the treatment will also be different.
- Second: The dosage of the medicine each time the child gets sick will change depending on the weight, age and actual severity of the disease of the child.
- Third: The child has a relapse of VPQ but the second pathogen is due to a virus, the child will not need to use antibiotics, but if it is caused by bacteria, the mother arbitrarily uses antibiotics incorrectly or does not take enough doses, the treatment may not be effective, the disease will become severe, easily relapse, and drug resistance will reduce the effectiveness of treatment in the future.
Therefore, arbitrarily using the old prescription when the child is reinfected with VPQ without a doctor's prescription will be dangerous for the child.
