On the morning of September 5, Hong Ngoc General Hospital officially opened its Mother and Baby Care Center, introducing a comprehensive postpartum care model that combines medical-grade safety with hotel-standard comfort and recovery.
A new milestone in postpartum care
On the morning of September 5, 2026, Hong Ngoc Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital officially inaugurated and commenced operations at its Mother and Baby Care Center, marking a new milestone in enhancing the quality of postpartum care for mothers and newborns.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the hospital’s Board of Directors; heads and deputy heads of the Departments of Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Neonatology, and Nutrition; as well as a large number of physicians, nurses, and staff from across the Hong Ngoc Healthcare System.

At the ceremony, Vu Manh Dung, MD, MSc, Head of the Department of Neonatology and Director of the Mother and Baby Care Center at Hong Ngoc General Hospital, emphasized:
“The Mother and Baby Care Center was established to further strengthen Hong Ngoc’s comprehensive maternal and infant care ecosystem, ensuring that care does not end at childbirth but continues throughout postpartum recovery and the critical early stages of a child’s development. To achieve this goal, the Center brings together specialized expertise from Obstetrics, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Nutrition, and Rehabilitation. In addition to closely monitoring and supporting mothers’ postpartum recovery and providing safe, professional care for newborns, we place strong emphasis on educating and empowering parents with evidence-based knowledge and practical skills in infant care. We hope that every family coming to the Center will feel reassured, and leave with improved health, greater knowledge, and increased confidence as they continue their parenting journey.”

Peace of mind after childbirth with a medically supervised care ecosystem
At the Center, safety is the guiding principle across all care processes. Mothers and newborns are assessed daily by specialists in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Neonatology. Newborns are monitored for respiratory, cardiovascular, and gastrointestinal status, jaundice, umbilical cord condition, and developmental reflexes. For mothers, uterine involution, cesarean or perineal wound healing, lactation status, and key indicators of postpartum psychological well-being are closely monitored throughout recovery.

The Center places particular emphasis on supporting exclusive breastfeeding, an approach that Hong Ngoc has consistently promoted for many years. The medical team accompanies mothers throughout the breastfeeding journey, providing guidance on positioning and proper latch, while also helping manage common breastfeeding-related concerns such as breast engorgement, nipple fissures, and blocked milk ducts, with the aim of minimizing discomfort. This commitment builds on Hong Ngoc’s recognition as an “Excellent Breastfeeding Practice Hospital” in 2023 and its designation as a Satellite Human Milk Bank in 2026.
Postpartum mothers also have access to specialized physiotherapy programs designed to strengthen the pelvic floor, support body recovery, and relieve lower back pain. Newborns are cared for in an environment with strict infection-control measures and receive routine umbilical cord, eye, and nasal care, as well as bathing and massage to promote circulation. They may also participate in age-appropriate hydrotherapy and early movement activities, together with developmental exercises and sensory stimulation tailored to each stage of early growth.

As part of the Hong Ngoc General Hospital healthcare system, in-hospital emergency response protocols and multidisciplinary coordination among Neonatology, Obstetrics, Emergency Medicine, and other relevant specialties can be activated immediately whenever a mother or newborn shows signs of clinical deterioration, helping minimize potential risks and ensure timely intervention.
Hotel-standard postpartum retreat: holistic recovery for mothers’ body and mind
Alongside its medical foundation, the Center offers a postpartum recovery environment designed to meet mothers’ needs for rest, privacy, and comfort. It features 18 inpatient rooms across several room categories, all developed under a hospital–hotel model and equipped with essential amenities for both mother and baby. The space is designed to maximize natural light, tranquility, privacy, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, helping reduce the clinical feel often associated with traditional hospital settings.

The Center’s landscaped green spaces and spacious Koi pond provide a calming environment that helps mothers relax and reduce stress. All postpartum rooms, reception areas, and functional spaces, including newborn bathing and care rooms, are subject to strict infection-control protocols in accordance with ACHSI standards (Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International). These measures provide an added layer of protection for newborns with still-developing immune systems, as well as for mothers whose health remains particularly vulnerable during the postpartum period.
