✅ WHAT IS THE BRONCHOSPASMS?
It is an inflammatory condition that causes bronchospasm, making it difficult for children to breathe and causing wheezing. In severe cases, it can lead to respiratory failure.
⚠️ CAUSES - FACTORS
- Virus (RSV, influenza,…), bacteria
- Allergic constitution
- Cigarette smoke, dust
- Premature babies, malnourished children, obese children
🚨 DANGER SIGNS
- Wheezing, whistling, rapid breathing
- Chest retraction
- Fever, persistent cough
- Vomiting, poor feeding
👉 SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION if the child experiences increased difficulty breathing, pale or lethargy.
🏥 TREATMENT
- Oxygen therapy for respiratory failure
- Bronchodilator nebulization
- Antibiotics for bacterial infections

🛡️ PREVENTION
- Maintain good nasal and throat hygiene
- Avoid cigarettes smoke and dust
- Exclusive breastfeeding for at least the first 6 months after birth; ensure adequate nutrition
