Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between Hong Ngoc General Hospital, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and Facing the World was held at the residence of the British Ambassador. On this occasion, Hong Ngoc General Hospital was awarded official recognition by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for its surgical training program.
The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) is one of the world’s oldest surgical associations, recognized for upholding global standards in surgical practice. The association’s activities include training and the development of professional standards and protocols in the field of healthcare. Among its functions are the evaluation and accreditation of surgical practice worldwide, based on rigorous criteria. Surgical training institutions not only in the United Kingdom but also in many other countries aspire to obtain certification from the RCS as a mark of credibility in their training programs and as recognition that their surgeons meet international standards. The RCS is regarded as a globally recognized benchmark in surgical practice.
Alongside Viet Duc Hospital and the 108 Military Central Hospital, Hong Ngoc General Hospital is among the first three institutions in Vietnam to be awarded surgical training certification by the RCS. Over the years, Hong Ngoc General Hospital has made thorough preparations, ranging from investment in modern facilities and advanced surgical equipment to the training and development of a highly skilled team of doctors and surgeons. After successfully passing rigorous assessments and evaluations based on exceptionally strict criteria, Hong Ngoc General Hospital was officially awarded certification by the Royal College of Surgeons of England for surgical training in two specialties Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery, as well as Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery (Hong Ngoc Aesthetic Surgery Center).

With this recognition, Hong Ngoc became a member of the association, participating in collaborative training programs and sending its doctors to courses accredited by the Royal College. In the future, Hong Ngoc is expected to attract greater interest from leading hospitals and major healthcare organizations worldwide. From this point forward, international experts will conduct teaching sessions and share professional experience to enhance the expertise of Hong Ngoc’s medical team. The hospital will also welcome international students and trainees to study and practice in accordance with international standards.
This not only affirms the training capacity of Hong Ngoc General Hospital but also reflects the high professional competence of its medical team and the advanced facilities that effectively meet the healthcare needs of the community.
Medical education is an essential component of Hong Ngoc General Hospital’s long-term development strategy; therefore, receiving accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons of England further enhances the hospital’s brand value.
