✅ WHAT IS ACUTE LARYNGITIS?
It is inflammation of the larynx caused by viruses or bacteria. The condition can cause breathing difficulty and may be life-threatening.
⚠ RISK FACTORS
- Common cold
- Inflammation of the nose, throat, or lungs
- Allergies, gastroesophageal reflux
- Dust and cigarette smoke
🚨 DANGER SIGNS
- Heavy cough
- Hoarse voice or loss of voice
- Stridor (noisy breathing), shortness of breath
- Fever
👉 TAKE THE CHILD TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY if breathing difficulty worsens, stridor occurs even at rest, or there are signs of cyanosis (bluish lips/skin).
🏠 HOME CARE
- Keep the child calm and well rested
- Drink plenty of warm water
- Limit shouting
- Closely monitor breathing

- Keep the throat warm
- Avoid dust and smoke
- Strengthen the immune system
