From the very beginning, in order to achieve its goal of establishing a European-standard IVF Center, Hong Ngoc General Hospital engaged Plaint Point, a European design company specializing in hospital architecture with extensive experience in cleanroom design. As a result, Hong Ngoc IVF Center is equipped with state-of-the-art procedure rooms and laboratories featuring high-level sterility and cutting-edge medical equipment.
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most advanced infertility treatments available today. In this method, eggs and sperm are retrieved from the body for fertilization to create embryos. The resulting embryos are then cultured in the laboratory for about 3–5 days before being transferred into the woman’s uterus. Sperm, eggs, and embryos are highly vulnerable forms of life, as they lack the immune protection mechanisms of a complete human body. Meanwhile, the normal air environment contains numerous harmful microorganisms.
Therefore, establishing an IVF cleanroom system is of utmost importance and plays a decisive role in the success of infertility treatment. Hong Ngoc General Hospital’s IVF Center has been built with modern, fully integrated equipment and cleanrooms that meet the highest standards. Below are some key features of the IVF cleanroom system at Hong Ngoc IVF Center:
- Designed by Plaint Point, a company from the Czech Republic specializing in hospital and IVF center design.


- Airflow is engineered to meet international standards, creating positive pressure to prevent dust and microorganisms from entering the room.


- Incoming air is filtered through HEPA filters, effectively trapping most dust particles and microorganisms.


- In addition to dust control, our cleanroom system also regulates temperature, humidity, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring optimal laboratory conditions for embryo implantation and development in IVF. All equipment is periodically inspected to guarantee the highest accuracy of measurement results.


- Alongside the purified air system, procedure rooms and laboratories are constructed with antimicrobial glass, capable of blocking and eliminating up to 99% of harmful microorganisms present in the environment.
IVF equipment requires the highest standards of quality and precision, and no single manufacturer is capable of producing all devices in a fully synchronized system. Understanding this, the leadership of Hong Ngoc General Hospital partnered with Eppendorf, a renowned German medical equipment manufacturer, and MEDESA Group (Czech Republic). These two corporations not only supplied the equipment but also ensured synchronization with devices from five other manufacturers.
We take pride in possessing some of the most advanced reproductive technologies, many of which are not yet widely available in Vietnam. Notably, these include:
- Small-chamber embryo incubators that allow embryos from each couple to be cultured separately, ensuring no cross-influence during the cultivation process.

- Time-lapse monitored small-chamber incubators enabling embryologists to precisely track embryo development without the need for direct observation.

- Automated micromanipulation systems used in ICSI procedures or for embryo biopsy in preimplantation genetic screening and diagnosis.

- CellTram Vario microinjectors, multi-point laser systems supporting assisted embryo hatching, along with many other advanced devices.

The cleanroom system, together with synchronized imported equipment, enables us to perform all advanced techniques such as sperm selection, oocyte retrieval, embryo creation, and embryo culture - critical factors determining the success of infertility treatment. Notably, complex procedures such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), assisted embryo hatching, in vitro maturation of oocytes, and preimplantation genetic screening/array (PGS/Array), which previously required patients to travel abroad, can now be performed directly at Hong Ngoc IVF Center.
