My 26-month-old baby can only say the correct sound "ba". The rest of the time, he says meaningless sentences. He can still do many simple things that adults say: putting away shoes, washing hands, greeting adults, etc. So is my baby slow to speak? Please give me some advice, doctor.

The Department of Psychology & Mental Health has received your question and would like to answer as follows: Normal babies will have a language development process that changes every month. Parents should consider if the baby does not have the following actions when reaching the corresponding milestones:
Does not respond to noises.
Does not like to communicate with others (using sounds, gestures or words), even when needing help or wanting something. Does not know how to say even one word like grandma or mom. Does not know how to make gestures such as waving goodbye, shaking head to say no, pointing. Does not usually respond when called by name. Does not care about anything around him
Does not understand or respond to simple words Does not say any words Does not point to objects or pictures when asked Never points to things he or she likes to ask for things
Cannot point to certain body parts (e.g. head, eyes, nose) when asked. Cannot say more than 6 words. Cannot communicate in any way, even when needing help, cannot point to what he wants.
