This recognition reflects the hospital’s ongoing efforts to enhance professional expertise and treatment quality in line with international standards, marking a step toward deeper integration with the regional healthcare landscape.
On June 17, Newsweek magazine in the United States, in collaboration with Statista, a global healthcare data company based in Germany, announced the Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2026 ranking, one of the most prestigious evaluation systems for specialized hospitals today. Hong Ngoc General Hospital was honored to be named among Asia-Pacific’s best specialized hospitals in Orthopedics.
Notably, 2026 marks the first year Vietnam has been included in this evaluation system. Among the Vietnamese representatives, Hong Ngoc General Hospital is one of only three hospitals recognized in Orthopedics, affirming the hospital’s increasingly solid position on the regional healthcare map.
The ranking was developed based on an evaluation of more than 3,500 hospitals across 11 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region, using three core criteria. The first criterion was an online survey of physicians, hospital managers, and healthcare professionals in the region regarding the leading hospitals in each specialty. The second involved national and international certification and accreditation systems, such as JCI and ACHS, reflecting each hospital’s governance capacity, service quality, and professional expertise. The final criterion was patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), which demonstrate improvements in symptoms, mobility, and quality of life after treatment.

As a key specialty at Hong Ngoc General Hospital, the Department of Orthopedics and Cranial Neurosurgery has received comprehensive investment in human resources, medical equipment, and technology for the examination, surgical treatment, and management of musculoskeletal disorders, traumatic injuries, and cranial neurosurgical conditions.
Hong Ngoc General Hospital is the first hospital in Vietnam to master and implement tendon-sparing total knee replacement combined with a kinematic alignment instrumentation system, as well as the application of 3D C-arm technology in orthopedic trauma surgery. In addition, minimally invasive hip replacement, arthroscopic joint surgery using advanced biomaterials, and the treatment of complex fractures have contributed to optimal outcomes for thousands of patients.
