Hong Ngoc Gen Center, under Hong Ngoc Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital, was awarded ISO 15189:2022 accreditation on August 5, an international standard for medical laboratories worldwide.
ISO 15189:2022 is considered the gold standard for medical laboratories, internationally recognized for technical competence and quality management systems. This accreditation is granted to laboratories that fully meet stringent requirements for professional expertise, technical equipment, and rigorous quality control processes.
Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha, Director of the Bureau of Accreditation (BoA), stated that within modern healthcare systems, the quality of medical laboratory testing is no longer merely a technical support function, but has become a critical component influencing treatment decisions and the reliability of healthcare services. “We believe that, with its dedicated team and pioneering vision, Hong Ngoc Phuc Truong Minh Hospital will continue to serve as a leading model for Vietnam’s high quality, modern, patient centered, and sustainable private healthcare system,” Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha shared during the accreditation ceremony.
To achieve this accreditation, Hong Ngoc Gen Center underwent multiple rounds of assessments and external quality evaluations. Specialist Level I Physician Hoang Tan Cuong, Deputy Director of the hospital, stated that obtaining the accreditation reflects the continuous efforts of the hospital’s professional team, while reaffirming the institution’s commitment to ensuring laboratory quality, a key factor in medical diagnosis and treatment. “ISO 15189 is a rigorous international standard for medical laboratories. Achieving this accreditation means that Hong Ngoc Gen Center has reached a new milestone, moving closer to international standards in terms of professional expertise, operational processes, and quality management,” said Dr. Hoang Tan Cuong.

Each year, the center performs more than 20,000 laboratory tests, serving thousands of clients nationwide. It currently provides over 40 specialized services, including non invasive prenatal testing (NIPT), carrier screening for inherited genetic disorders, cancer diagnostics through genetic mutation analysis, and testing for rare pediatric genetic diseases.
Achieving ISO 15189:2022 accreditation further strengthens Hong Ngoc Gen Center’s capacity for early detection of genetic abnormalities, thereby supporting timely and effective medical intervention.
The center brings together leading experts, including Dr. Pham Thu Hang, Director of Hong Ngoc Gen Center; Dr. Duong Quoc Chinh, Professional Advisor; along with a team of physicians and laboratory specialists who have received advanced training both domestically and internationally.
The center is also equipped with next generation laboratory technologies, including Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), Sanger sequencing, microarray, qPCR, and the automated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), enabling highly reliable quality control throughout every stage of the testing process.
